New to St Andrews

I. Flight 🛬

When I arrived at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, it felt like the start of a new chapter. I'm not sure if I'll get everything I want out of it, but I'm ready to see what the future holds.

Thanks to all my friends for the well-wishes, and a special thanks to Tong for seeing me off at Beijing Capital Airport. Your support means the world to me.

After a long flight, we finally touched down at Edinburgh Airport.

We were exhausted, but everything felt fresh and interesting because we'd just arrived in a new country.

II. Arrived at JBH 🏠

We hung around Edinburgh for about two hours waiting for our luggage. All the other passengers were foreigners to us — and then it hit us that now we were the foreigners too. After that, another 1.15 hours on the bus to our accommodation, taking in the beautiful landscapes of St Andrews along the way.

Everything here is so calm and relaxing. You can feel it in the air.

III. Feeling some stress 🗻

This week we started our pre-sessional course, and I'm a bit anxious. Everyone seems so cool and confident, and I feel a little out of place. I really want to improve, so I know I have to work hard — really hard.

To get better, I'll need to repeat, repeat, and repeat. In a new English-speaking environment, it'll take time to adjust. But all the teachers and people I've met have been kind. When you walk down the street, everyone smiles and says hello — it's a polite, welcoming kind of place.

IV. Just Do It 🚀

We often think a lot and do very little. The key is to take action — just do it, and things start to improve. Whether it's going to the gym or meditating to sharpen your focus, what makes the difference is showing up consistently.

The key to success in life is to KEEP GOING. A reminder to myself.

Smile, and good night.

V. Finally, some pictures 📸
